ChristChurch Casino opened for business in 1994. This casino was the first casino in New Zealand. The ChristChurch Casino features 3 restaurants and 2 bars. The New Zealand Poker Championships are hosted at this casino. ChristChurch casino is open twenty four hours but has a strict dress code that is strongly enforced. ChristChurch is located near the airport and was acquired by SKYCITY entertainment group in the spring of 2004. This became the fifth casino owned and operated b SKYCITY entertainment group.

Dunedin Casino is located near the city center of Dunedin New Zealand. This casino opened in 1999 and is located within the Southern Cross Hotel. Dunedin is a 24 hour casino with a wide variety of slot machines and table games.
